ABOUT OUR BUTTERFLY ROOM...
Their home away from home is what we want to achieve throughout each room in our Centre. Our Early Childhood Teacher is the Lead Educator in this room, the curriculum is in line with the Early Years Learning Framework. These years your child is already attending Kindy or getting ready to attend “big school”. Therefore, the program in this room is focused on school readiness; i.e. looking at numeracy, literacy, encouraging independence, confidence and resilience.
The environment is being co-created and co-developed by the Educators and the children- allowing them to take ownership and develop a respect for the learning resources, planned activities and time spent in the room. Educators and children are in constant dialogue in terms of what they are interested in and what they are wanting to do. Respect for others and safety is reinforced in their day-to-day learning.
They are becoming butterflies- ready and fully equipped to fly to their next phase of learning and development.
